Common questions

Where are my notes?

In the folder you chose when you opened the vault. They are plain Markdown (.md) files you can open in any editor. Wiki Workbench never moves them anywhere else.

How do I start a new vault?

Choose Open Vault… (Choose Vault Folder… on iPhone and iPad) and pick or create an empty folder. The app sets it up and opens a welcome note that tours it.

Can I use my notes on several devices?

Yes. Keep the vault in iCloud Drive, or in a git repository, and open the same folder on each device.

What happens when the free trial ends?

Your notes stay readable and searchable; editing stops until you unlock the app. The unlock is a one-time purchase that covers Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple Vision Pro.

I bought it on another device. How do I unlock this one?

Open Settings › Purchase and choose Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account.

How do AI agents work with my vault?

A new vault has an AGENTS.md file describing how to work in it, which AI tools read. On a Mac, Settings › Agents lets AI tools on the same Mac search, read and change your notes.
